My plan to ease my boredom and hopefully minimize my own self destructive, puckish nature is to fully immerse myself in one activity, idea, way of life, or what have you for one whole week. This way I should ideally learn something and be entertained all at once. An adventure of sorts.

Day 2 Week 1
Okay, down 3 pounds but still haven't mastered the fasting thing yet. Which is weird. I've fasted before (usually break like a brittle twig on the fourth day) but it's been no go this week so far. I don't know why I'm being so uncooperative. It's pretty dumb. Again, I'll make the claim to try harder. Hopefully with only one more day of cat sitting I'll have less time to munch on the tasty garbage my grandma keeps in stock and force myself back to my cupboards. Hippie food is better anyways...or at least easier to abstain from. Ah, smiles. Anyways, stupid cheese always makes me feel icky.

Day 1 Week 1
My New Best Friend!
Well, day one was a bust. I could give excuses (new job, new stresses) but really it was my weak will and half assed attempt that did me in. Boo. Obviously, I need to do better and I will. No more eating crap. Banana's and broccoli from here on out. That and cardio tonight to help fix my mistakes. I wonder how many lunges it takes to burn off popcorn?
Okay, so yay yay hooray! I'm jumping completely in and to help me do that I'm setting up more rules. My internet time, reading materials, music, movies, pictures will all be things to help me stay motivated. Crappy facebook games will be replaced by researching new diets, I'll read Skinny Bitch for the fifth time, listen to upbeat can't help but dance music, and watch movies that make me envious of thinner people while lifting weights or playing catch or something.
Though, I am hoping to keep my upbeat personality and hope to god I don't get too distracted by my imperfections because we all have good aspects too.

Because a Book Told Me To
My plan to ease my boredom and hopefully minimize my own self destructive, puckish nature is to fully immerse myself in one way of life, topic, idea, or certain activity for one whole week. This way I should ideally learn something and be entertained all at once. An adventure of sorts.
The plan came about after reading How I Kicked the MCAT'S ASS by Alex Wills. In this book Wills offers up the idea that, "Real and radical learning comes through deep and consistent experience." I agree and am willing to test this theory while experimenting with other ways of living.
I've always wanted to learn a new language, play a sweet game of tennis, say yes to everything!, and track down a ghost or two. Now I have a "legit" excuse to act like a nut without feeling like a total weirdo. It's especially handy that these types of experiments have been done many times before. Hooray!
Now on to week numero uno, baby. In honor of the swimsuit insanity that comes with summer I plan to spend my first week obsessing over the dreaded scale. Ghastly. Fasting and restricted caloric intake will be the key concepts. Thankfully, I have a family reunion of sorts to look forward too. Extra motivation!
Friday will be day one. What better way to start a weekend then by banishing booze and food from ones diet?
